7 DAYS OF JESUS CAMPAIN MISSION
8-14 AUGUST 2010
UNREACHED AFRICA:
Summary
The mission is about preaching the gospel to the unreached and the unprivileged people through door-to-door outreaches, mosquito nets distribution, counselling in partnership with Churches and village Leaders.
Problem statement
Our focus is on Namalindi village in Kiranga sub-county, Nakasongola district located on the shores of Lake Kyogga with farming and fishing as the major economic activity. This however has caused a trade off between education and fishing among the school going age children, which has led to the circular flow of poverty.
With the ratio of Christians to the general community population standing at proportionally low levels (also considering the leaders), the village has got high levels of alcoholism, witchcraft practises, child sacrifice practises, cannibalism, forced marriages of young girls to older men and children headed families whose parents were lost to HIV/AIDS which in turn has led to the perseverance of the disease.
Goals and objectives
This mission is intended to make Jesus known to this remote community, mentoring the youths and children, reconciling broken families, supporting children headed families, training the local church pastors and creating an environment where the community and local church leaders work in partnership to enhance spiritual and personal development of the people.
Strategy
As a way of achieving the set objectives, church planting, door to door evangelism, counselling and seminars, youths, parents and married fellowships are to be enhanced.
Through support systems, mosquito nets are to be distributed to families as well as food to the children headed families.
Our strategies are based on the assumption that there will be a partnership with the local and church leaders of the community as well as financial support from our partners.
Implementation plan
A team of 30 people some of which are technicians, evangelists, bible teachers, pastors, drivers and volunteers are committed and willing to work on this mission.
The mission on top of the operating costs necessitates the availability of equipments like;
